Meet Meghna
A parent, professional, and advocate ready to serve RRISD families.
Why I'm running
I am a Round Rock ISD parent, a technology executive, and a longtime believer that great public schools are the foundation of a thriving community. That's why when our schools were threatened by a fringe takeover, I co-founded Access Education RRISD at a time when we were tired of a school board that wasn't working and felt hopeless under constant attack on our community.
I am running for School Board Trustee, Place 5, because I believe in taking action when things aren't working for ALL, and I firmly believe our district deserves leadership that listens carefully, leads with facts, and puts students at the center of every decision.
There are numerous instances where RRISD is not working for all families, and I would like to change that after struggling with the system myself.
Professionally, I have spent nearly 25 years in the tech industry in multiple roles, starting out as an engineer in some very recognized global companies and moving to management and executive roles as my career progressed. I'm proud to be known for my strategic actions and ability to deliver results when things are extremely hard. I'm a technology transformation expert who cares about building a diverse team while balancing business results in constrained environments.
That background shapes how I think about school governance. Budgets are not just numbers; they reflect priorities. I will bring rigorous oversight to district spending, ask the hard questions, and make sure resources reach classrooms, teachers, and students. I will also bring my training as an executive who has delivered results in the discipline of setting clear goals, measuring outcomes, and holding the district accountable to the families it serves.
I hold an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya. But my most important credential is the one I share with so many of you: I am a parent who cares deeply about the daily realities of public school life - bus routes and curriculum, safety protocols and mental health support, teacher retention and student belonging.
Families need a board member who shows up, explains decisions in plain language, and advocates relentlessly for kids. That is the trustee I intend to be.
