Roy for Place 5

A parent and advocate for public schools
Meghna Roy is a Round Rock ISD parent, community volunteer, and advocate for student-centered stewardship of our district resources.
As a Chief Product & Technology Officer, Meghna understands the importance of rigorous academics, strong CTE pathways, and stellar extracurriculars, and how they shape a student's future. She holds an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from RGPV, India, specializing in satellite communications, and an MBA from McCombs at UT Austin. Her husband is an engineer with an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from NIT-K, India, and an MS in ECE from UT Austin. Their two children attend PRMS and McNeil.
Academic pursuit with a focus on supporting development of the whole child is foundational to her household. Both parents have volunteered with the district since their eldest started kindergarten at Elsa England in 2015: PTA — volunteer coordinator, membership, executive board, yearbook; Math Superstars grading; RRISD committees — CCNA, LRPC, SHAC, and Calendar; Mav Band booster board; campus volunteer — UIL, athletics, book fair, library, and TAG parent liaison. She has a strong track record of advocacy for COVID safety, libraries, teachers, Chinese LOTE, anti-bullying, campus climate, and fine arts. When the RRISD school board became a political theater in 2021 at the expense of student safety, she co-founded Access Education RRISD, endorsing student focused candidates across the political spectrum in 2022, to bring the focus back to RRISD. All of the endorsed candidates won their races resoundingly. Instead of selling other people's ideas, she has a proven track record of building solutions that focus on what matters.
